On Friday, 8/31 we jacket up the back end of the Barracuda and broke in the transmission for the first time. The car shifts great and has a good firm feel. We were happy to see that Bill's careful shortening and rewelding of the driveshaft produced no vibrations in the car as we sped the drivetrain through all 3 gears. Looks like drive shaft balancing will not be necessary. On Monday, 9/3 we are going to bleed the brakes and take her for a test drive around the block!

On Friday 9/7 Not much left to do here. We installed the brake lines this week. Kevin wired the electric choke to the carburetor. You never know what you are going to find when you restore an old car. After breaking in the transmission last week, we found the odometer didn't work. Kevin removed the instrument cluster found one of the gears was stripped. A replacement odometer from a 1965 Dart the club stripped earlier in the year was installed. As we do on all of our give away cars, the odometer was reset to
zero.
